The marine anchor site is located in the northwest of Reunion Island on the territory of the municipality of La Possession at the end of the Tête tunnel road near the English road.
The website
The exposed anchor has a partially buried rod. Made of wrought iron, it has not been treated. Losses of material are observable over the entire surface of the metal. One of the anchor arms is missing. The leg present on the second arm is still preserved. It forms a straight base, rounded ears and a well-pronounced beak. Anti-rust has been applied giving it this red color. This marine element can be interpreted in the present case as a ritual object belonging to an ethnic group of Indian origin more commonly called Malabar on Reunion Island.
